Good luck dude! I've been there and done that myself (all the hard work in the world doesn't stop a company from going under) except when it happened to me I spent the following 10 years without going online and living off the grid. Hope it doesn't get that bad!

It shouldn't, I developed Pitstop on Windows 7 but I've seen it work on Windows 10. What specifically isn't working about it? It looks in your screenshot to have successfully loaded the ROM. One thing you gotta do is make sure you're using an unmodified US Region Mario Kart 64 rom, otherwise I'm not sure what kind of havoc will ensue.

Please people, make hacks to work on real N64 hardware so It will be even more great to play.

Question: can be added more characters without losing the original ones? Maybe something to hold some buttons on character selection to replace the others via command just to not need to create a New screen?

Everything I'm doing is going to be hardware compatible, no worries.

Haven't posted much recently, but right now I'm changing how I pull apart the ROM when reading it in so that changes can be made to the functions but still work when the ROM is generated. It might take a bit, but with that change in place the size restrictions on texture replacements should be gone, and your proposed change would be possible. Though it'd take some effort finding all the different kart tables and expanding them by however many characters you want to add, it's definitely far from impossible.

Upon loading a MK64 rom, I get stuck on a loading screen for 10+ minutes. I don't know what happens when I wait any longer than that. I figure I shouldn't have to and that this is just a bug.
