Have you thought about making a tutorial to show the steps you took to achieve this?

I'm looking through the rom file for Goombario's textures at the moment. I'll post everything else that I find whilst I'm looking for him.


EDIT:
I found all of these locations by using Format I8, No stretching, and 1:1 ratio in N64Rip

Day 1 finds:
  • Princess Peach's textures start at 199BAA0 (48x90)

  • Upside down toad (I think this toad might have been used for debugging) 407000 (64x140)

  • Particle effects 411400 (64x290)

  • More particles 3D903F (32x260)

  • Even more particle stuff (some stuff from the pyramid in chapter 2) 3DCDA0 (128x215)

  • All the star spirit's card faces 3FB200 (48x260)

  • All of the Star Spirits 3E6677 (64x280)

  • Some sort of numbers 405A00 (32x100)

  • New chapter text and some more numbers 3EBF60 (128x375)

  • Barber Shop 123BABA (70x220) Format (I8) (This one is by far my favorite Tongue)
All of this will probably be irreverent information once Clover's tool is released, but hey who doesn't like looking at random pixels for hours on end?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still no Goombario... I'll continue my search tomorrow

Day 2 finds:
  • All the items in the game (to my knowledge) and some other icons like the boots and hammer 1EFB00 (16x4000)
  • More particles, I think these are an exact copy of ones from the earlier find 328C4C
  • Icon for when you're near a Star Piece and the chapter 2 icon for the red gem E21F60 (28x180) (you'll have to play with the Hex value just a little to get each icon to be in the center depending on which one you're wanting to export)
  • Textures for the 64club? Along with the 64club sign 2577CD0 (64x180)
  • This value is the starting point for a lot of images 2577CD0 (220x10000) (I'll be going through this area later tonight)
Here take a look at 2577CD0 (220x10000). Might not look like much, but there's a lot of images in there.

Here's the end of the last pixel's value (27FFFB7)(1x1)

RobiNERD mentioned to me that Goombario is in IA4 format, not sure how to go about finding it know, so I'll leave it at that and wait for Clover's tool for now.

how do i change the colors of the i4 textures

edit: i meant ia4 but i looked at i4 and it looked better
