Star World

Super Mario Star World is an upcoming DS port of Super Mario Star Road (N64).
Star World will feature gameplay and graphics far superior to its N64 counterpart,
and to top it off, many new levels and challenges throughout the game.

In this thread I will be posting updates on the progress of this game's development.

Current Progress (Updated 7/9/2017):
Hub (+Ending): 3/5
Main Levels: 15/15
Main Level Sub-Areas: 4/4
Cap-Collect Levels: 3/3
Character Key Levels/Battles: 2/5
Boss Key Levels/Battles: 6/6
Original Side Levels (+Purgatory): 3/4
New Side Levels: 2/3
Total: 38/45*
Requiring Remastering: 1 Remaining
* Some levels are deliberately excluded from this total

For the purpose of testing and providing feedback on the new and improved controls in Star World,
you may wish to download the Controls Test. Suggested improvements are very welcome.

All the most recent updates about SMSW's development can be found on Google+.

Below are the existing video previews of Star World.

One of the new levels is complete!

Does this seem vaguely familiar to anyone?

Not familiar at all, but wonderful texture choices as usual. Even though the rock some how doesn't fit since it's not that cel-shaded as the others and it somewhat looks repetitive IMO, but that's just me being nitpicky. Also that smooth transition to the plain white death ground below the whole level, how?

Gone for a while.

Reminds me of one of the scrapped levels from the original.

Thanks! This is pretty much the least interesting angle I could have taken a screenshot from, so it reassures me of the quality if people will still like it.
The transition into white is a semi-transparent gradient texture surrounding the object, I've attached this texture so you can see what I mean.

LuigiXHero, you are on the right track.

Yeah I recognise it. It seems to be a heavily revamped version of a level you showed off in one of your old videos.

I was hoping you would bring back that level. Also, did you leave out Preview 1 on purpose, because it's old, or did you forget?

I left it out deliberately because the level looks nothing like that now. Neither do Mushroom Mountain Town or Koopa Canyon, so I was tempted to leave preview 2 out as well.

is it this stage?

I just think the more the merrier. I wonder what Koopa Canyon looks like now, since we didn't get a screenshot.
